How do you bring something into a website that people can only fully understand once they have felt it in their own body? This is exactly how the custom website design for Katarina Kolenová began.
In Ericeira, Portugal, Katarina helps people feel lightness in their bodies again.
At our first meeting, I listened to Katarina . We talked about how she works, what she notices in her work and what she wants people to receive from it. This is how a website begins for me: first, I need to understand the person behind the service. Only then can I translate their essence into the name, copy, colours, visuals and the entire journey through the website.
A touch that respects the body
Katarina has been practising the Bowen Technique for many years and has also been teaching it since 2014. She mostly works with people, but also helps dogs and horses. During our conversation, she compared every body to a new musical instrument. First, she needs to listen to it. Only then does she discover where and what kind of touch it needs.
That image stayed with me because it perfectly captures the way she works. Katarina does not work against the body or push it where it is not yet ready to go. Through gentle movements, she gives it space to release the tension it is ready to let go of.
She described her gift as the art of touch with respect, understanding and acceptance.
And that is precisely what makes her work different. People do not need to arrive perfectly prepared, polished or in a good mood. They can come exactly as they are. Katarina creates a space where they do not have to prove anything. They can pause, breathe out and return to themselves.

Custom website design: one conversation became the name and copy
During our initial conversation, Katarina told me about her work, the way she listens to the body and the feeling she wants people to experience. She kept returning to lightness – that moment when the weight falls away, you can breathe freely again and feel as light as a feather.
To write the copy, Katarina did not have to give me polished sentences, complete a long questionnaire or define what makes her work unique. All she needed to do was talk to me about it. My role was to listen carefully, notice her own words and find what was essential within them.
That conversation gave rise to the name Enjoy Lightness and all the copy for the website. It is copy in which Katarina recognises herself and through which visitors can understand that her work is more than a conventional massage. It is a gentle, respectful space where they can let everything go for a while and return to themselves.
I then carried that lightness through the entire website: the airy space, the delicate feather in the logo, the turquoise and yellow colours, the copy and the simple path to booking. The website did not begin with a template. It grew from Katarina, from the way she works and from what her clients experience with her.

Then I experienced Katarina’s work for myself
During our collaboration, I also had the opportunity to experience a Bowen treatment with Katarina. I had struggled with stiff, tense shoulders for a long time. I had almost stopped going for massages because so often I left without any real change and felt I had simply wasted my money. So I did not arrive at Katarina’s treatment with great expectations.
That made me all the more surprised by how I felt afterwards.
Can such a gentle touch really help?
Katarina worked through my clothes, which I found very comfortable. I did not have to undress and felt safe throughout the treatment. Her touch was so gentle that at first you might wonder:
"Can this really do anything?"
And yet I left feeling as if a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. Even several days after the treatment, I could still feel an unfamiliar lightness. It was as though I had finally taken off a heavy backpack I had carried for so long that I had grown accustomed to its weight. That was when I realised that Enjoy Lightness is an exact description of what I experienced with Katarina. The name, the copy and the entire visual identity of the website grew from something genuinely present in her work.
And if you also feel that there is so much more to your work than your current website shows, I would love to listen. In a single conversation, I look for why people choose you – and then translate it into the copy, design and the entire website.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Bowen Technique?
The Bowen Technique is a gentle bodywork method. Katarina listens carefully to the body and uses subtle movements to give it space to release tension at its own pace.
Do I need to undress for a Bowen treatment?
During my treatment, Katarina worked through my clothes. I did not have to undress and felt comfortable and safe throughout.
How did the name Enjoy Lightness come about?
The name grew from our initial conversation. Katarina kept returning to lightness – the feeling of a weight falling away, of being able to breathe more freely and feel as light as a feather.
How do you create a website that reflects the person behind the business?
I begin with a conversation about the person, their work, their approach and what they want to give their clients. Only then do I translate their essence into the name, copy, colours, visuals and the entire journey through the website.
